Book Beautifully presented and intelligently paced, the Lesson Books combine unusually attractive music and lyrics. The books feature note reading, rhythm reading, sight-reading and technical workouts. Each piece on the CD was performed and recorded at both a performance tempo and a slower practice tempo.
Technique Book Now your students will have the technical tools needed to achieve artistic performances. They will encounter skills in four areas-playing naturally (physical aspects), moving freely (around the keyboard), playing beautifully (tone production) and playing artistically. The technical goals are accomplished through three types of activities-patterned exercises with necessary repetitions to make the technique feel natural, artistic etudes that showcase the student's technique in an artistic musical setting and appealing and descriptive exercises called Technique Tools. The nine Technique Tools in Level 1A relate to relaxed shoulders, arm weight, moving freely, strong fingertips, finger weights, repeated notes, thumb position, finger independence and gentle hand rock. Each page in the Technique Book correlates with a specific page in the Lesson Book.
Theory Book Correlated page-for-page with the Lesson Books, each new musical concept is reinforced through additional fun-filled writing, listening and playing exercises. With games and puzzles added to composing and creative activities, students retain concepts and learn more thoroughly.
Performance Book The appealing repertoire with charming lyrics reinforces and enhances the learning of new musical concepts introduced in the Lesson Books. Includes attractive music created by internationally acclaimed composers in a variety of styles, plus tips on how to perform more musically. Each piece on the CD was performed and recorded at both a performance tempo and a slower practice tempo.
At-Home Book It's like having a second teacher at home. The unique At-Home Books contribute greatly to a student's success. When used by parents during practice time, it can make a dramatic difference in the student's musical learning. All parents—with or without musical knowledge—will be able to participate. Each At-Home Book includes Assignment Pages, Parent Pages, and an engaging story for students and parents.
Assignment Book for any level Perfect for organizing practice time for any student in Alfred's Premier Piano Course, Levels 1A-6, this book includes 36 lesson assignment sheets, a performance repertoire list and a dictionary of musical terms. The two-page weekly layout provides a simple assignment grid that allows the teacher to write the assignment and practice suggestions efficiently, using a minimum of lesson time.
Flash Cards Flash Cards correlate with the Lesson Books and include two types of cards: Music Cards (symbols, terms, note identification, rhythm patterns and keyboard layout) and Sight-Reading Cards. These cards are correlated to the Lesson Books and are numbered and colored for easy assembly by the teacher or parent.
General MIDI Disks (2-Disk Sets) General MIDI Disks with fully orchestrated accompaniments are available for the Lesson and Performance Books. MIDI orchestrations are by Brent Mills and Jason Nyberg.
